All current patients are welcome at the new practice location! Through the end of September, I still can be reached at the above address in Phoenix.
Here are the basic details:
I will still be practicing full time, and be available for primary care for patients of all ages.
If you are a current patient, I welcome the privilege to care for you at the new location.
When you call to make an appointment, please mention that you are a patient of Dr. Simon from the previous practice.
If you are having a baby at GBMC, please have the nursery contact me after delivery for a hospital visit.

What do I need to do in order to continue to be a patient of Dr. Simon?
If you have no health problems and are not due for a wellness exam, you don't need to do anything in advance. You can simply call the new office the next time you are need of medical care.
If you have chronic health problems or take prescription medications, please make a routine appointment for medication review at the new office (yearly or biannual, depending on previous schedule) so that medication refills can be handled seamlessly. Call to get an appointment. 410-628-2026
I need an appointment for routine visit, well baby check etc. this summer. When can I call to schedule?
If you need appointment before the end of September, call 410-666-4060 to schedule at the Phoenix office as usual.
I need an appointment for some time after October 1. How to I do this?
The schedule is now open! When you call to make an appointment at the new office, please let the phone staff know that you are an existing patient of Dr. Simon.
This practice is owned / managed by Mercy Medical Center. Does this mean I have to travel to the city to get care?
Absolutely not. As always, I will be free to refer you to the best specialists as needed, regardless of their hospital affiliation. Fortunately, I will have easy access to Mercy's excellent network of specialists who can schedule appointments at the Hunt Valley, Overlea and Lutherville locations, in addition to the hospital in Baltimore.
All my doctors are at another hospital (GBMC, St. Joes, Medstar, Hopkins, etc). Does this mean I have to switch them, too?
Absolutely not. You are still free to see whatever specialists or other doctors with whom you have an ongoing relationship. I will always work with and refer to the best specialists necessary for you, regardless of their hospital affiliations. I have very good working relationships with the specialists at GBMC and other hospitals, and will continue to foster those relationships.
Will you still have same-day appointments available?
Definitely. We will start each day with open appointments in order to make room for same-day urgent patient visits. In order to preserve this ability, please do not request a same day appointment if you have a more routine non-urgent need.
Will I still be seeing Dr. Simon, or will there be a different doctor every time?
When you call, you should ask to schedule with Dr. Simon. You may be asked to see a different provider if I am away, if the schedule is fully booked, or if you don’t have flexibility with your requested appointment time.
What do I need to do on my first appointment at the new office?
Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment. Since the new practice is a different business entity, it will be necessary to fill out new registration paperwork and forms to get you in the new system.
Bring your insurance card, medications, and immunization book with you.
Will Dr. Simon still accept my insurance?
Almost all insurance that were accepted at the old office will be accepted at the new office; please verify this when you call to make your first appointment at the new office. You may need to call your insurance company to notify them of a change. Please see list of accepted insurances but call the office if you are not sure, since we can do electronic insurance verification.
Will my medical records transfer to the new office?
Yes. You don’t need to do anything at all. I will have access to your electronic health history and medical records via the Epic computer system.
I received a bill. How do I pay it?
If you received a bill from GBMC Health Partners for a date of service prior to September 30, 2023, then please contact the billing department phone number listed on the bill. Do not contact the new office regarding this type of bill.
Do I have to change anything with my insurance?
You don’t have to do anything if your appointment is prior to October 1.
If your insurance company requires you to choose a Primary Care Provider (PCP), then yes, you will need to call your insurance company (at least a day or two prior to your appointment) to let them know that you will be seeing Dr. Simon at the Mercy Personal Physicians - Hunt Valley location.
If you have Medicare, or if your insurance company does not require a PCP, then you don’t need to do anything else. Make sure to bring your insurance card to every appointment.
How do I get a prescription refilled?
If prescription refills are coming due in September or October, please check early, as I can refill those in September when possible. After October, please ask your pharmacy to contact the new office, but be patient: since transfer of records is rarely seamless, please account for slight delays in refilling medications.
If you take routine "maintenance" medications, it would be best to make a non-urgent appointment at the new office in order to get in the system. This will simplify any electronic refills and make sure your medical care stays up to date.
Is Dr. Simon the owner of the practice?
No. The practice is owned and managed by Mercy Personal Physicians. The individual physicians will still have autonomy as to how to treat patients, where to refer, etc.
I can't drive all the way to Hunt Valley or would like to stay at Hunt Manor. What do I need to do?
Since six of the eight Hunt Manor providers are leaving, GBMC is making efforts to reload Hunt Manor with new providers; the office will stay open and some physicians / NP's from other locations will help cover until permanent replacements can be hired, so please call 410-666-4060 to make an appointment. GBMC is making every effort to find providers to care for the patients who do not wish to leave the practice. You can contact the office to find out which providers are accepting new patients.
